Happy Feet, Happy Sheep - Managing lameness to improve production

This program will be run over two days and will focus on the major causes of lameness in sheep.
Footrot will be a strong discussion topic with the aim being to provide producers with a better understanding of the disease, what it looks like and how they can manage it to reduce production loss on farm. We will also provide a clear action plan for producers wanting to prevent the introduction of footrot onto their farm.

Wednesday October 8th (12 - 4pm)
- Understanding common causes of lameness in sheep.
- How to make a diagnosis. Included a practical demonstration of what footrot looks like.
Thursday October 9th (9am - 1pm)
- Managing lameness. Includes footrot control and eradication options.
- Presentation from Coopers Animal Health on Coopers Ovilis Footvax.
- How to develop a sound biosecurity plan to prevent the introduction of footrot and improve lameness on your property.
- Case studies, review and practical exercises.
