Applications for funding for Sheep Industry Fund projects in FY2026-27 were open from 9.00am 16 February 2026 to 5.00pm 27 March 2026

 

FURTHER INFORMATION

This funding is suitable for industry development and extension activities, research projects, and farmer groups. Projects demonstrating co-funding and/or collaborations with other programs or initiatives are encouraged. Projects should be completed within the applicable financial year, though multi-year projects will also be considered.

Applications are assessed against the SA Red Meat and Wool Blueprint 2030 and the project’s contribution towards achieving the goals and targets that the industry is striving to achieve by 2030.

Applications will also be assessed against the following criteria:

  • Benefit to the SA sheep industry
  • Direct benefit to fund contributors (sheep producers)
  • Alignment with the Sheep Industry Fund investment priorities
  • Alignment and collaboration with other state and national sheep industry priorities and programs, ensuring no duplication of investment
  • Support from industry stakeholders
  • Investment value and leveraging of funds
  • Demonstrated project management experience
