We are seeking applications for innovative and practical initiatives that will uplift biosecurity across South Australia's livestock industry. These must demonstrate broad livestock industry benefits aligning with the SA Red Meat and Wool Blueprint 2030. Grants between $500 and up to $3000 (ex GST) are available with funding applications considered for both new and existing events.
Who can apply?
The fund is open to both organisations and individuals who can demonstrate a commitment to delivering initiatives that:
- Positively impact on-farm biosecurity measures.

- Enhance preparedness and response to biosecurity threats, both endemic and exotic.
- Promote best practice biosecurity management across the industry.
- Deliver locally tailored approaches to address biosecurity challenges.
Key Focus Areas:
We are looking for applications that address one or more of the following areas:
- Planning – Activities that support the development of biosecurity plans tailored to individual properties or businesses.
- Prevention – Initiatives that implement or enhance on-farm biosecurity practices to reduce the risk and spread of pests, weeds, and diseases.
- Recordkeeping – Projects that build skills in maintaining accurate records of biosecurity activities, such as training, procedures, operational logs and new technology.
- Management – Activities that improve understanding and application of animal health and welfare practices through a biosecurity lens.
- Education – Programs that raise awareness and provide training or demonstrations of best-practice biosecurity measures.
- Collaboration – Activities that involve working with other producers, industry stakeholders, or government to strengthen biosecurity awareness and education.
- Innovation – Projects that introduce or apply new approaches, technologies, or systems to enhance biosecurity outcomes.
Application Process:
Interested parties are invited to apply detailing their proposed project, including objectives, potential impact, and how the initiative aligns with the goals of the SA Livestock Biosecurity Uplift Grant and SA Red Meat and Wool Blueprint 2030.
Applications will be assessed based on their ability to deliver measurable biosecurity improvements and benefit to the South Australian livestock industry. A panel will review all submissions against the eligibility criteria and notify successful applicants of their acceptance within 1-2 weeks of receiving the application. If accepted, successful applicants will receive all required promotional materials, including the monitoring and evaluation documentation.
Applications will close when the funding allocation has been exhausted.
