Livestock SA March 2025 Update

Livestock SA continues to advocate for SA livestock producers, ensuring your voice is heard on key industry issues.

🔹 Biosecurity Levy Scrapped – Strong advocacy efforts led to the withdrawal of the proposed Biosecurity Protection Levy, preventing added costs for producers.

🔹 Improving Regional Connectivity – We’re working with the NFF to address mobile coverage concerns and the impact of the 3G shutdown on rural areas.

🔹 Federal Election Priorities – We’ve contributed to national election priorities, including a push for a national food strategy and opposition to the live export ban.

🔹 Virtual Fencing & Legislation – While recent animal welfare changes excluded virtual fencing, we’re ensuring new regulations provide clarity for producers.

🔹 Ministerial Engagement – Ongoing discussions with Minister Clare Scriven, who will attend our Regional Round Up – Clare on 3 April.

🔹 Livestock Advisory Committee – A strong response to nominations, with interviews underway and updates coming soon.

📅 Key dates:
βœ… Industry Fund applications close 28 March
βœ… Regional Round Up – Clare on 3 April – Don’t miss guest speaker Matt Dalgleish!
