Livestock SA has provided a submission to the review of the Cross Border Commissioner Act 2022, supporting the continuation of the Office of the Cross Border Commissioner while calling for a stronger focus on practical outcomes for primary producers, regional businesses and border communities. The submission highlights the importance of addressing cross-border challenges that affect livestock businesses, including freight, biosecurity, workforce mobility, drought response and pest management, and recommends stronger industry engagement and clear agricultural priorities to help resolve ongoing barriers faced by border communities.
