Upcoming November Disease Postmortem Workshop in Carrieton
Livestock SA, in collaboration with PIRSA, is hosting a free, half-day workshop in Carrieton on Wednesday 8 October to provide producers with the latest information and practical tools to better understand and manage November Disease and other livestock health challenges.
Livestock SA Chair, Gillian Fennell said the workshop will deliver the latest insights on November Disease, practical demonstrations, and expert advice tailored to local conditions to give producers the tools to take action.
“There’s been a lot of uncertainty around November Disease. This workshop is about giving producers clear, practical information they can use on-farm,” Ms Fennell said.
“We’re combining expert knowledge with hands-on learning, so producers leave knowing what to look for, what to report, and how to respond.”
“Understanding what’s happening in the paddock and what to watch for will help equip producers with preventive strategies to reduce stock losses and protect herd health.”
What’s on the program:
- A current update on November Disease: what’s known, what’s emerging, and what’s still under investigation.
- A hands-on sheep post-mortem practical.
- Seasonal insights into endemic diseases and how they present.
- Plant ID techniques and species to watch for.
The workshop will wrap up with a networking lunch and a chance to connect with other producers and continue the conversation.
